Yield: 8 servings (+.-)
Ingredients:
- 1 quart Diced White Bread (Challah Bread is the best for this)
- 1/2 cup Melted Butter
- 12 Eggs
- 2 cup Sugar
- 1 T Cinnamon
- 1 t Vanilla
- 4 cup Milk
- 1 cup White Chocolate Chips
Method:
- Cube Bread into 1/2 inch squares, toss in melted butter and toast until light golden brown, cool
- Mix milk, sugar, cinnamon and vanilla in saucepan
- Place on stove and steep until all sugar is dissolved, stirring occasionally
- Beat all eggs together in bowl
- Temper eggs with scalded milk mixture
- Add eggs to milk and whisk thoroughly and cool
- Toss toasted bread in the “custard”.
- Gently mix in white chocolate
- Place in buttered 9×12 baking pan and let sit 20 minutes to absorb liquid
- Bake in a preheated 350 degree oven for 45 minutes or until set
- Slice to appropriate sizes, serve with a caramel sauce and vanilla ice cream
- Can be gently reheated in warm oven or lightly microwaved
