At Chestnut in Asheville, we love celebrating the incredible people who bring warmth, personality, and hospitality to our restaurant. Each month, our Humans of Chestnut series highlights a standout team member who makes a difference both in our dining room and behind the scenes.
This month, we’re excited to introduce Elizabeth Britt, one of our exceptional hosts! While Elizabeth is typically part of our sister restaurant, Corner Kitchen, she’s temporarily with us at Chestnut while Corner Kitchen is being rebuilt. With her welcoming smile and dedication to top-notch service, she’s been an invaluable part of our team, making every guest feel at home.
How long have you worked at Corner Kitchen/Chestnut?
It will be four years in April.
How has the transition been from Corner Kitchen to Chestnut?
Brad, who is the General Manager here at Chestnut is terrific and has made the transition very easy for me.
What’s your position?
I’m a host.
Where are you from?
I’ve moved around a lot but have lived mostly in Virginia and Massachusetts.
What’s your sign?
I’m a Sagittarius.
Are you a dog or cat person?
I’m a cat person.
What do you like to do for fun?
I like Dancing and traveling.
What’s something on your bucket list?
I’d love to visit Finland.
What has been your favorite dish at Chestnut?
The Kale and Beet Salad.
What’s your proudest accomplishment?
I’m fortunate to have many proud accomplishments, one of which is being married to the same terrific person for 27 years. Another is working at a university, collecting data for educational research grants that support underrepresented groups.
What’s a fun fact about you?
I’ve taught dance fitness classes on and off for almost 20 years, and I am an ordained shamanic minister with Venus Rising Association for Transformation.
What are you most excited for this year?
I’m looking forward to Seeing more and more recovery from Hurricane Helene, not only for Corner Kitchen, but for all of the people and areas effected.
